The Stevenson High School Math Team completed the triple crown by winning the national Math Madness competition, the regional North Suburban Math League competition and the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics state contest.
Stevenson finished first in the Class 4AA Division at the virtual ICTM state competition. In a tremendous showing, SHS won first or second place in each of the seven events en route to defeating second place Naperville North, 882-826.
Several students captured individual state titles. Freshmen Keona Liu, Vedant Rathi, Kevin Shen and Ethan Zhang tied for first individually and collectively won the Algebra 1 crown at the team event. Sophomores Benjamin Chen, Collin Fan, Aadit Juneja and Katherine Li also tied for first individually, and together, won the Geometry team event. Juniors Lillian You, Andrew Liu, and Greycen Ren finished in the top 10 for individual honors in Algebra 2, alongside seniors James Kim and Praneet Rathi who finished in the top 10 for individual honors in Pre-Calculus.
